Mediation and Arbitration for Affordable Housing and Development Viability

 

Summary of Main Advice Areas:

  • Mediation between landowners / developers and local planning authorities to determin the appropriate amount and type of affordable housing to be provided as part of new housing development.
  • On behalf of local planning authority clients, to review developers "open book" financial information and to advise on development viability in affordable housing cases.
  • Working with developer clients to resolve financial viability issues on sites and, where appropriate, to present a Viability Case to a local planning authority.
  • Advice on, and negotiation of, Section 106 agreements for development proposals.
